A girl, believed to be about six years old, was rushed to hospital around 5:45 this afternoon after she fell from a window on the second floor of the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium.
A witness told OBSERVER media the girl and another male child were playing at the stadium where they were attending a wedding reception, when the accident occurred.
The Stadium Manager, Conliffe Phillip, said the child was conscious and alert after she fell, but she was bleeding from contusions to the mouth and head.
The male child who was with her, also fell from the same window, but a man who was in the area, caught him. Phillip said that child was not physically hurt, but he also taken to hospital in an ambulance. The manager said the police also came to the scene and are investigating the matter.
Meanwhile, Phillip said he considers the building to be safe as he explained that both children, who were unattended, would have had to creep through the window which he says does not open wider than 12 to 14 inches.
