The Chief Health Inspector Sharon Martin has issued an urgent appeal to the family members of six deceased men whose bodies have been left unclaimed at a funeral home for up to three years.

The deceased, identified as Nathaniel Andrew, Renol Delva, Edward Sylvester, Dequan Cummings, Anderson Quinland, and Limo Lee, have not been claimed by their families.

Relatives of the deceased are urged to come forward and make arrangements for a private funeral to be held at Barnes Funeral Home.

However, if the bodies remain unclaimed after a period of 14 days, the government will be compelled to take necessary steps to bury them without any further notice.

It is crucial for family members to claim the bodies promptly to avoid government intervention in the burial process.

The Office of the Chief Health Inspector stressed the significance of family members taking responsibility for the deceased individuals to ensure they receive a proper farewell, according to their wishes and cultural practices.

Failure to do so may result in the state stepping in to handle the burial arrangements, with no legal recourse available thereafter.
