Che Adams has committed his international allegiance to Scotland, and could make his debut this month.

Adams, 24, has been in fine form in recent weeks for Saints, scoring in each of their last three matches.

Born in Leicester, the striker represented England at the under-20 level and is also eligible to play for Antigua and Barbuda.

But he has opted for Scotland, qualifying to represent them through a maternal grandparent.

Adams is understood to have previously rejected advances from both Antigua and Scotland, but the Daily Record claim Saints team-mate Stuart Armstrong, who is a regular in Steve Clarke’s squad, has been encouraging the forward to join him on international duty.

The pair have both today been included for upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Austria, Israel and Faroe Islands later this month.

Scotland are also gearing up for this summer’s European Championship, where they will take on Czech Republic, England and Croatia in the group stage. (www.dailyecho.co.uk)
