Antigua’s top junior female tennis player, Sibley Charles, finished 5th at the Masters COTECC Under-14 Cup earlier this week.
Competing in the Girl’s Singles category, Charles defeated Anika Lemus (Guatemala) in straight sets 6-4, 6-4 on Thursday.
The 13-year-old will now focus on the Mixed Doubles division where she will battle along with her partner, Antonio Chavez (Honduras), for a fifth-place finish.
They will face Guatemalans Marcos Castellanos and Deborah Dominguez.
Charles, having finished in the top eight on the COTECC list, was invited to the prestigious tournament.
