In a Leeward Islands Cricket Board 3 Day intrasquad match between Hayden Walsh Jr XI and Rahkeem Cornwall XI, strong batting performances highlighted by centuries from Hayden Walsh Jr and Shelton Forbes dominated the encounter with the match beginning on Thursday and ending on Saturday

Walsh Jr’s team posted an imposing first innings total of 437 all out in 101 overs, anchored by two outstanding centuries. Shelton Forbes crafted a magnificent 128 off 183 balls, including 10 fours and six sixes, while captain Walsh Jr contributed an attacking 123 from 142 deliveries, featuring 18 boundaries and one six. Colin Archibald provided valuable lower-order support with a well-made 54.

The bowling honours in the first innings were shared between Oshane Thomas and Daniel Doram, who claimed four wickets each. Thomas was particularly effective with the new ball, while Cornwall chipped in with two crucial wickets.

Cornwall’s XI’s response was disappointing as they were bundled out for just 110 in 48.2 overs. Karima Gore’s fighting 53 was the only significant contribution, as Jeremiah Louis (3/4), Chamiqueko Landerfort (3/13), and Colin Archibald (2/17) dominated with the ball.

Following on, Walsh Jr’s XI declared their second innings at 146/8, with the captain again leading from the front with an unbeaten 52. Akadianto Willet was the pick of the bowlers with 3/39, while Cornwall maintained his impact with 2/23.

In their final chase, Cornwall’s XI reached 86/2 at stumps on day three, with Kadeem Henry unbeaten on 47 and Gore providing support with 13 not out. The match showcased several promising performances, particularly in the batting department, with Walsh Jr and Forbes demonstrating exceptional form across the three days of play.
