The 2018 edition of Miss Antigua and Barbuda may have left an air of confusion among patrons last night but that isn’t stopping the three newly named queens from celebrating.
This year’s pageant was a far departure from the norm, with multiple prejudged segments and no announcement of the winners of the individual segments at the end of the show.
The over four-hour production was the result of director Calvin Southwell’s bid to give the competition an international feel.
At the end of the show Titonyah Athill was named Miss Antigua Barbuda Silver, Taquiyah Francis was named Miss Antigua Barbuda Gold and Ashley Boodhoo was named Miss Antigua Barbuda Platinum.
Athill would be third, Francis second and Boodoo, first. The winners are expected to compete in different competitions throughout the next year.
Moments after being crowned, Boodoo had this to say.

Meanwhile, an emotional Miss Antigua Gold – Taquiyah Francis was near speechless.

Miss Antigua Barbuda Silver – Titonyah Athill says she feels blessed.
