Creative youngsters are invited to pen an essay on the theme of African heritage for a competition taking place this month.

Rastafarian naturopath Priest Isaac’s ‘African History Month Essay Competition’ invites children to submit a short piece entitled ‘What does African history/heritage mean to me’.

The word count for the junior category, for children aged seven to nine, is 100 words. Those aged 10 to 13 should submit 200 words, while teens aged 14 to 17 should write 300 words.

An Acer laptop is up for grabs in the senior category, and a Winsing tablet for the winner of the intermediate group. The junior prize is yet to be announced.

Submissions can be typed or handwritten and must be received by 6pm this Friday. Entrants’ name, date of birth and contact information are required.

The essay must be put in a large unfolded envelope, preferably in a folder, and addressed to Hon. Priest Isaac. Submissions should be brought to the Top Ranking store on Old Parham Road.

Winners will be announced the first week in March.
