The Indian businessman found guilty of indecent assault has been fined and ordered to pay compensation to his victim.
Prakashcandra Lohar was spared jail time by High Court judge Justice Ann Marie Smith.
Instead, the judge made an order that he pay a $2,000 fine within 24 hours, and that amount was reportedly paid in full on Wednesday.
Lohar also has to pay compensation to his victim in the sum of $8,000 by February 28.
Last year, the businessman was convicted of two counts of indecent assault, stemming from an incident which occurred on February 12, 2022.
He found himself being charged and before the court after he offered the woman a ride when it was raining. She subsequently accused him of performing sexual acts in front of her and other sexual misconduct.
