Building codes were ignored: Barbuda devastation

Philmore Mullin, Director of the National Office of Disaster Services (NODS), has said that reconstruction on the sister isle must adhere to a more robust building code than the present one. He added that the present code had not been adhered to throughout the years. Officials estimate that over 90 per cent of the houses on Barbuda were destroyed by Hurricane Irma.
