National cyclist, Jyme Bridges Jr, dominated the Antigua and Barbuda Workers Union (ABWU) Invitational Race held on Sunday, clocking 2:41:33. (two hours, 41 minutes and 33 seconds) to claim both the Elite Male Class and the Overall title in the 57 miles event.
Bridges finished ahead of Dave Garrett and Abbiel Flemming who were second and third respectively. Garrett clocked 2:41:35 while Flemming registered a time of 2:43:48 seconds in the bronze medal position.
Shawn Weathered (2:54:44.) and David Simmons (2:57:25.) rounded off the top five finishers in the Elite Male and the overall categories.
Meanwhile, Brent George dominated the Sports Class, registering a time of 2:46:38 to finish ahead of Tacuma Davis (2:59:57.) and Miguel Williams (3:20:20.) who were second and third respectively.
Aiden Tonge and Jomari King were the only competitors in the Junior Male division, finishing first and second respectively. Tonge registered a time of (2:50:11.) while King finished in a time of 2:50:11 seconds.
In the Masters Class, Jason Adams dominated the field, clocking a time of 2:55:23 seconds to take the top podium position. Patrick Peters (3:03:27) and Edward Henry (3:21:52) were second and third respectfully.
There was action as well in the Cadets 11-14 age category with Elite Thomas the only competition, clocking (2:38:48) while Telesha Choy was the only cyclist in the Female Class, registering a time of 2:41:00.
