Blue Jays welcome triumph over Palace to stay with top two in FA’s Second Division

Blue Jays were three-nil (3-0) winners over Blackburn Palace in the lone Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) match contested Wednesday, moving to 31 points from 12 matches and second in the Second Division standings.

Jarohn Thomas led with a double, striking in minutes 34 and 63 but Amos Christian had already given Blue Jays the advantage with a 15th minute strike.

The loss was Blackburn Palace’s sixth in 10 showings as they remain on 12 points and 10th on the 17-team standings.

Meanwhile, the group stage of the Premier Division competition kicks off on Saturday at the FA’s Technical Center on the Sir Sydney Walling Highway.

FC Aston Villa will face Green City FC at 4pm, Pigotts Bullets face Willikies FC at 6pm and defending champions All Saints United take on the struggling Parham FC at 8pm. On Sunday, frontrunners Grenades FC face bottom of the table Greenbay Hoppers at 4pm, Old Road battle Five Islands at 6pm and Garden Stars tackle Attacking Saints at 8pm.
