Blizzard stun Garden Stars, Attacking Saints trounce 5Ps

Real Blizzard stunned front-runners Garden Stars FC on Wednesday afternoon in Division 2 play.

The Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) encounter saw Real Blizzard edge them out 2-1 at home with goals from Taharie James (1st) and Millique London (30th).

Tarek Charles got one back for Garden Stars.

This means that Garden Stars only edge out second placed Molwyn Joseph Bendals by a plus 61 goal difference to Bendals’ plus 54. Both teams are tied on 51 points with Bendals having two games in hand.

Blizzard on the other hand moved to 7th with 35 points.

Attacking Saints recorded the largest margin of victory that day thrashing 5Ps Wadadli FC by an astonishing 9-0 score-line.

Dorian Cole got the ball rolling in the 3rd minute of play while Keron McKenzie (8th), Roneba Cordice (48th), Nashawn Phillip (53rd) and Joshua Samuel (62nd) all followed suit.

Malone Joseph and Shakeem Lanquaduc also found the back of the net for the victors as both men recorded braces. Joseph in the 10th and 25th and Lanquaduc in the 13th and 20th.

This win moves them to 5th on the Zone 1 standings with 44 points, while 5Ps slipped to 10th with 12.

Meanwhile in Division 1 play, SAP FC trounced Bolans FC 2-0 in the round south derby while FC Aston Villa edged out Fort Road 2-1.

Tyrique Tonge (32nd) and Rockeem Russell (80th) were the goal-scorers for the victorious SAP team who now have 41 points in the second position while Bolans are 9th with 21.

Villa are now 3rd with 39 points while Fort Road are 6th with 27.

Rivero Torres Yasnay (62nd) and Omega Jeffrey (72nd) scored for Villa while Joumal Semper (7th) got one back for Fort Road.
