Blackhawks stay unbeaten while Pythons strangle Spartans in Super40

PIC Liberta Blackhawks recorded the largest margin of victory in the Antigua and Barbuda Cricket Association (ABCA) Super40 competition over the weekend, dismantling Jennings by 224 runs when they met in Liberta.
Batting first, Blackhawks raised a massive 341 for six in their 40 overs with Kofi James slamming 140 and Karima Gore hitting 103. Morton Browne was the lone bowler of note for Jennings, claiming four wickets for 48 runs.
In reply, the visitors could only reach 117 for nine in their allotted 40 overs. Leeward Islands Hurricanes fast bowler, Stanny Simon, did the damage for Blackhawks, picking up three wickets for just nine runs.
Meanwhile, All Saints Pythons had a comfortable five-wicket victory over Rising Sun Spartans when they met in St. John’s.
Sent in to bat, All Saints made 207 all out with Kadeem Jarvis hitting 63 and West Indies speedster Alzarri Joseph hitting 39. Ahmal Nathaniel contributed with 35 runs.
Spartans, in reply, could only reach 202 all out. Their best effort with the bat came from Hughan Tonge with 42 while Xavier Marshall and Owen Graham each made 37.
There was victory as well for Empire as they beat Pigotts Crushers by 106 runs.
Empire amassed 184 all out with Jauri Edwards hitting 52. Treverson Atley grabbed four wickets for 43 runs while Vincent Shedrach Jr. claimed three wickets for 43 runs, both bowling for Crushers.
When their turn at the crease arrived, Crushers were all out for just 79 runs. Samuel Peters had a five-wicket haul, claiming five wickets for 35 runs bowling for the victors.
In other matches that day, Caribbean Union Bank (CUB) Bethesda Golden Eagles defeated Combined Schools by five wickets while Bolans had the better of New Winthorpes by 86 runs.
