Black Lightning stun Invincible Stars, Grays Green remain perfect

Michael Browne Black Lightning pulled off a big upset on Thursday night in the Antigua and Barbuda Netball Association (ABNA) Mixed league edging out Invincible Stars, 24-23 at the YMCA Sports Complex.
Black Lightning who were not the clear favourites going into the encounter silenced the critics handing Invincible Stars their first loss of the season.
 Kenroy “Chicken” Telemaque led the charge for the victors as he sank 22 of his 28 attempts.
Esther Samuel netted 15 of her 23 while teammate, Carl “Stamalan” Kirby chipped in with eight in a losing effort.
Massy United Gray’s Green Tigers continue to make their presence felt defeating Running Rebelz, 24-22.
The Tigers clawed their way to their second straight win with powerhouse, Randy Frederick sinking 15 of his 21 attempts.
He was assisted by Carlton Albert who netted five of his nine attempts and Adina Andre who chipped in with four.
Rebelz’s Amey Lake scored 17 of her 23 attempts while teammate Patara Davis made five of 10.
Cool and Smooth Pacesetters also remain unbeaten in the Mixed division as they defeated Asot Michael Parham, 21-13.
Akiel Hazelwood drilled 16 of his 21 attempts for the victors while Donette Samuel and John Francis both scored six of 10.
In the other match that night, Roof Masters Plus Attackers edged out Sagicor Life Enforcers, 19-14.
Anjis Anthony netted 14 of 24 while teammate, Shenique Farrell made 5 of 16. (Carlena Knight)
