Benna Girls get huge win in CFU Unde-14 Challenge

Keitonya Skepple enjoyed a four-goal blitz as Antigua and Barbuda blanked Bonaire 6-0 in the ongoing Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Girls’ Under-14 Challenge Series here on Monday.

Skepple struck in minutes 12, 29, 41 and 67 to lead the young Benna Girls to their first win in three matches as they contest Tier II, Group B of the competition at the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association’s technical center.

Nafisa Quashie scored once when she hit the back of the net in minute 37 while an own goal from Shaimaris Mercera in minute 22 accounted for the home team’s other conversion.

The win lifts the Benna Girls to third in the standings with four points following a win, a draw and a loss. Bermuda heads the group with six points from three matches while Barbados is third with four points and Bonaire fourth with three points.

Antigua and Barbuda previously drew 1-1 with Barbados and lost 2-0 to Bermuda.

Also, on Monday, St Lucia defeated St Kitts and Nevis 5-2. There were double strikes from Dhunya Jn Baptiste who scored in minutes 11 and added time and Kayla Polius who netted in minutes 51 and added. Amaya Emmanuel scored the other goal for St. Lucia in minute 44.

Alani Jordan (47) and Danika Davis (70), were the goal scorers for St. Kitts and Nevis.

St Lucia moves to second in Tier II, Group C with four points from two matches while St Kitts and Nevis are yet to get pick up a point after two losses.

Meanwhile, Jamaica beat Trinidad and Tobago 1-0 also on Monday with the lone goal of the match coming from Ricquanna Richards. They competed in Tier I, Group A.

In other matches on Monday, Bermuda beat Barbados 2-1 and Cayman Islands defeated Turks & Caicos 3-2.
