Antigua and Barbuda suffered their first defeat of the Caribbean Football Union Under 14 Boys Challenge in Trinidad and Tobago, when they went under to the St Vincent and the Grenadines in a one-nil loss credited by their captain Beau Hoyte.
After a goalless first half dominated by Antigua and Barbuda play, the second half commenced with similar attacking play from the young Benna Boys who played admirably, but it was that one moment of lapse that proved crucial in their demise.
A pass to SVG Captain Beau Hoyte saw the youngster evade the Antigua and Barbuda defence to beat the goalkeeper’s left along the ground at his near post, which brought jubilance to the SVG Camp. The Antiguans kept up their attack but time was not on their side as they eventually lost one-nil.
They will meet the Cayman Islands at 4pm tomorrow.
