Bendals, Lion Hill and Ballerz dominate Second Division opponents

Bendals FC drew level with Garden Stars at the top of the standings in Zone A of the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) Second Division competition with 51 points on Monday when they recorded their 17th win in 18 matches, a 5-0 throbbing of Freeman’s Village Scorpions at the Bendals playing field.

Striker Alvah Guishard recorded a double with goals in minutes 27 and 50, while Jeron Samuel (minute 48), Omego Otto (minute 55) and Jahbendigo Jacobs (minute 63) all had single conversions in the one-sided affair.

Despite joining Garden Stars on 51 points, Bendals are still second due to goal difference as they boast a positive 54 goal difference, while Stars boast a positive 62 goal difference. Stars have however played a game more than Bendals. Scorpions remain on 29 points from 19 showings.  

There was victory as well for Lion Hill as they hammered Glanvilles 7-0 to move to 47 points from their 20 showings and third in the Zone A standings.

Calroy Douglas registered a hattrick with goals in minutes three, 35 and 48, while Rickroy Johnson scored in minutes nine and 27 to record a double. Keron Prince and Cassell Southwell both had single strikes in the massive win.

Glanvilles are fourth from bottom in the 14-team standings with just 12 points.

There was victory for English Harbour as well as they beat Urlings 3-0. Nigel Graham, Wayne Phillip and Allan Martin were all on target for the victors as they move to 43 points from 20 matches and third in the standings. Urlings are on nine points from 19 outings.

In the other match contested Monday, Master Ballerz trounced Mahico Stars 7-0. Dalton Lewis led the charge with goals in minutes 51, 60 and 80 to record a hattrick while Ronaldo Foster recorded a double, scoring in minutes 15 and 74. Kaleel Hill (minute 44) and Keithlyn Samuel (minute 74) both scored once.

Ballerz move to 35 points from 21 matches while Mahico are second from bottom with just four points.
