Belmont crush Young Warriors in Second Division

Belmont FC were huge 9-0 winners over the struggling Young Warriors FC when they met in the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) Second Division.

Zamaal Greene led the charge with a five-goal blitz, netting in minutes 14, 25, 34, 74 and 84. Malique Edwards scored twice with goals in minutes 82 and 89 while there were single conversions from Jamal Spencer in minute 10 and Iandre Hodge in minute 60.

The win was Belmont’s ninth in 13 matches as they move to 27 points and into the top four on the standings. Warriors remain on seven points from 11 matches and fourth from bottom on the standings.

Also on Thursday, West Ham FC beat Earthquake FC 2-1 when they met at the PMS playing field. West Ham went ahead in as early as the eighth minute when Raheim Andre struck from close range. Vaughn Roberts stretched West Ham’s advantage in the 67th minute before Akiel Thomas pulled a goal back for Earthquake in the 85th minute.

Meanwhile, the contest between Tamo FC and Glanvilles did not materialize as Tamo could not field a team.
