The female beach volleyball team of Joelle Thomas and Nyota Peters suffered double losses at the ongoing Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games in Baranquilla, Colombia over the weekend.
Peters and Thomas suffered their first defeat by partners, Marissa Brady Ramos and Jarisa Hynds Bodden of Honduras in straight sets, losing 21-18, 21-13 on Saturday morning in the Women’s Preliminary round Pool B match at the Avenida del Rio-Puerta de Oro.
The bad luck continued later that evening as they went under in straight sets once again, this time to Cuba’s Leila Martinez
Ortega and Maylen Delis Tamayo, losing 21-10, 21-11.
The national volleyball veterans will however hope to bounce back from their rough start as they will battle for a 13th place finish later this week.
Their opponents however have not been named up to press time.
