Former national player, Mahijah Davis was named the team’s head coach, and will be assisted by Cedric David. The team’s technical director is basketball icon, Carl Knight, and the manager is Oleno Knight, and she will be assisted by Marlon Charles.
President of ABBA, Daryll Matthew expressed commendations to the young men on being selected and urged them to work hard as they each vie for a spot on the country’s national team.
He added that special attention would be paid to those who displayed not only exceptional basketball skills, but also good discipline and work ethics.
“It is the vision of the association to produce ‘Good People’, who society respects, and not just good basketball players,” Matthew said.
Antigua & Barbuda placed third in the last LIBA Under-19 Tournament held in Montserrat in 2015.
