Pointville Ballers and Ottos Matthews Vikings were winners in Division Three of the Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) league on Tuesday, making light work of their opponents to impress in their season opener.
Ballers dominated a low-scoring game against Fearless Crew to win by a 63-30 margin, a difference of 27 points separating the teams.
Trey Beazer and Kyle Tichomas led the scoring for Ballers, each dropping 22 points while Tichomas also grabbed 13 rebound in the process. Ryan Sheppard was the only scorer of note with 16 points.
Meanwhile, Vikings defeated Young Warriors by 20 points, winning 76-56. Cecil Farrel led Vikings’ scoring off the bench with 19 points while Shamar Joseph added 12 points to the effort. Playing for Warriors, Kofi James had a game-high of 28 points while grabbing nine rebounds and Irwin Mills sank 13.
