Sandals kept their double championship hopes alive with a disciplined 55-44 victory over Richie’s Shooterz in Game 2 of the Cool & Smooth ABBA Business Basketball League finals on Thursday night at the JSC Sports Complex.
The League Champions showcased their depth with four players scoring in double figures, led by T-Shawn Lewis’ game-high 16 points. Keroi Lee contributed 15 points, while Adissa Harris and Selassie Braithwaite added 12 and 10 points respectively in what proved to be a crucial team effort.
Richie’s Shooterz, who had taken Game 1 of the series, were limited to their lowest scoring output of the playoffs. Tavarus Benta led their effort with 13 points, but the team struggled to find their usual offensive rhythm against Sandals’ defensive pressure.
The victory sets up a winner-take-all Game 3 on Saturday night, with both teams now having secured one win apiece in the best-of-three finals series. The decisive game will determine the 2024 ABBA Business Basketball Playoff champions.
Sandals’ balanced scoring attack and defensive intensity in Game 2 suggests they’ve found their championship form at the perfect time, while Richie’s Shooterz will need to regroup and adjust their strategy for the final showdown.
The stage is now set for what promises to be an exciting conclusion to the 2024 ABBA Business Basketball League playoffs, with both teams having shown they have what it takes to claim the title.
