It was another day of intense action that featured a triple-header in the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association Premier League on Sunday with wins for FC Aston Villa and Old Road at the ABFA Technical Center.
The first match of the day saw Five Islands FC and Attacking Saints FC share the points in an evenly contested 1-1 match that saw late heroics. Tev Lawrence put Five Islands ahead in the 42nd minute, but their hopes of securing all three points were dashed when Rashawn Martin struck a dramatic equaliser in the second minute of stoppage time.
FC Aston Villa secured an emphatic 4-0 victory over Willikies Warriors FC in the second match of the evening that saw the Warriors reduced to 10 men following Cordell Roberts’ dismissal for serious foul play. The scoring began with an unfortunate own goal by Brent Kirby in the 26th minute. Rakeem Joseph then took center stage, netting a double (68′, 84′), before Mali Johnson added a final flourish deep into stoppage time.
Old Road FC continued their impressive form with a convincing 3-0 win over Parham FC for the final encounter of the evening. Johnathon Shoy opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, while late goals from Gisner Joseph (87′) and Jaheim Hazelwood (90+6′) sealed the comprehensive win.
