Police have confirmed that George Akeba Chiddick, the suspect wanted in connection with a shooting incident on Tuesday, August 6th, has turned himself in to authorities.

According to a statement from Police Spokesperson Frankie Thomas, Chiddick surrendered himself into police custody earlier this morning and is now cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

The shooting occurred around 8:30 am on Tuesday at a residence on George Street, leaving a young woman with a gunshot wound to her left leg. The victim was taken to the hospital and later released after receiving treatment.

In the initial wanted bulletin, police described Chiddick as potentially armed and dangerous. However, authorities reported that the 32-year-old suspect surrendered peacefully and without incident.

Chiddick is currently in police custody and is expected to be arraigned on charges related to the shooting in the coming days. The investigation remains ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information about the case to come forward and contact the authorities.
