The Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) will be able to provide enough water to meet the needs of sailors and residents participating in the upcoming activities for Sailing Week.
Production Engineer in APUA’s Water Business Unit Ian Lewis said the Pigeon Point reverse osmosis plant continues to supply water on a regular basis to the English Harbour area, and that its daily production stands between 300,000 and 400,000 gallons.
“Sailing week will be adequately covered by the Water Business Unit. Come Sailing Week, we should be in a position to continue the service to that area,” Lewis said.
Antigua & Barbuda’s annual sailing regatta, which started in 1968, will be marking its 50th anniversary this year.
The activities will be held from April 29 to May 5.
Over the last two decades, Antigua Sailing Week has become one of the biggest events on the international sailing calendar.
