On Thursday evening the Antigua Power Company dominated Christo’s Supermarket United, while H Wright Promotions outpaced Eye Mobile Vision Care in the Cool & Smooth ABBA Business Basketball League.
In the opening game of the evening, Antigua Power Company demonstrated their offensive dominance with a commanding 83-48 victory over Christos Supermarket United. The 35-point margin highlighted the disparity between the two teams as Ezekiel Francois led the charge for the victors with an impressive double-double, scoring 19 points and grabbing 20 rebounds, while also dishing out five assists. His dominant performance in the paint set the tone for his team’s success.
Tristan Jacobs contributed 18 points to the winning effort, while Sergio Symister added 17 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists, showcasing his all-around game.
Tevin Bowers rounded-out the double-digit scorers for Antigua Power Company with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Despite the lopsided score, Christos Supermarket United’s Kofi Mensah put up a valiant effort, leading his team with 15 points.
The second game of the night saw H Wright Promotions secure a solid 70-53 win over Eye Mobile Vision Care. Iornie Joseph and Humroy Wright led the scoring for H Wright Promotions with 18 points each.
Joseph also pulled down 17 rebounds for a double-double, while Wright contributed eight rebounds.
Donte Trimingham added 14 points and seven assists to the winning effort, showcasing his playmaking abilities.
Jevonte Valerie chipped-in with 13 points, 14 rebounds, and three blocks, providing a strong presence in the paint.
Eye Mobile Vision Care’s Tehran Zachariah put up a strong individual performance in the losing effort, recording a double-double with 16 points, 14 rebounds, and four steals.
With just a few games left in the league, Sandals are just one game away from laying claim to this year’s title, having won all 11 matches played so far.
Should they lose their final match, then H Wright Promotions and Anjo Wholesale may have a chance at claiming the title.
Both have played 10 games, won nine and lost one with two games remaining. The league’s leading scorer is Lincoln Weekes who has 255 points, and he also holds the record for this season with the most three-pointers in a single game.
