Thanks to a first and second place finish on Tuesday, the team accumulated 17 points in the provisional standings of Group A, reserved for the youth teams of the prestigious America’s Cup.

The first day of the event was raced in extreme weather conditions that forced the race committee first to delay the start due to lack of wind, and then to shorten the course of race two due to strong gusts and big waves.

Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli is an Italian sailboat racing syndicate first created to compete for the 2000 America’s Cup.

Sponsored by UniCredit, the Youth America’s Cup brings together the best young sailors from around the globe to compete in a knock-out series to crown the champion.
