Antigua and Barbuda’s young boxing talents delivered an outstanding performance at the Battle of the Islands Boxing Championships in St Martin, with both representatives securing impressive victories and one claiming the prestigious Best Boxer award.

Joshua Toussaint emerged as the star of the tournament, clinching victory in the Elite 67kg Welterweight division with a commanding unanimous decision over Martinique’s Michele Fidole. Toussaint’s exceptional performance throughout the competition was further recognized as he was awarded the coveted Best Boxer of the Tournament title, underlining his dominance in his weight class.

In the elite 86kg cruiserweight division, Zalaan Jan continued the winning streak with a convincing unanimous decision victory over Anthony Maugee, also from Martinique. Jan’s triumph demonstrated the depth of talent in Antigua’s boxing program.

The successful campaign was overseen by Anthony Severin, who served as both coach and manager for the Antiguan contingent. Under his guidance, the boxers showcased their technical skills and tactical awareness against strong international opposition.
