Antiguan boxers claim three bronze medals

Antigua and Barbuda earned three bronze medals at the recently concluded Battle of the Islands Creole Boxing tournament in St. Maarten.

Uriah DeSilva, Lance Robinson and Joshua Toussaint were the three boxers who came away with some silverware.

Nineteen-year-old DeSilva was the first of the three boxers to secure his bronze medal, fighting in the Novice Lightweight category, last Friday.

Robinson, 26, is the oldest of the bunch and followed suit minutes after in the Youth Middleweight section, while Toussaint, 19, rounded off the tally for Team Antigua and Barbuda, settling for third spot in the Elite Lightweight category.

Anthony Severin is the head coach, Archibald Richards is the Assistant Coach and Khalid Shabazz is the Team Manager.

The team will return to Antigua today.
