Following a great morning edition start for Antigua and Barbuda on Monday in the ongoing St. Lucia Under-14 Tennis tournament, the afternoon edition did not follow the same path.

Zoey James lost her singles girls match 7-5, 1-6, 4-6 to Trinidadian Jaeda-Lee Daniel-Joseph; while in the boy’s singles, De’Andre Weekes had to pull out and forfeit his match due to illness.

Weekes also had to forfeit his doubles encounter versus fellow Antiguan Jaiden Julien and his partner Tim Pasae.

In the girl’s doubles matches, partners Sydney Kentish and Aysha Hosam lost to St. Lucians Latoya Murray and Iyana Paul 6-3, 4-6, 5-10; while Ariel Kelsick and Samaar Davis went under to Alannah Bousquet (St. Lucia) and Serena Bryan (Barbados) 1-6, 1-6.

Justyn Raeburn, partnering with Barbadian Adam King, lost to Tyler Hart (Trinidad and Tobago) and Afi Lucas (St. Vincent and the Grenadines) 1-6, 0-6.

Some celebration did however occur on Monday as Zoey James and Janae George-Alexander won their doubles match, 6-1, 6-0 over Sage Bascombe (St. Vincent and the Grenadines) and Ameila Rosemond (St. Lucia).

Meanwhile, at the St. Vincent and the Grenadines ITF, Selene Kentish lost her singles match 1-6, 0-6.
