Antigua and Barbuda suffered a second straight loss in the ECCB International Netball Series after going down 68-37 to St Vincent and the Grenadines at the at the Beausejour Indoor Facility in Castries, St Lucia, on Tuesday.
The loss follows a 55-38 defeat at the hands of hosts St Lucia on Monday and a 39-37 triumph against defending champions Grenada on Sunday.
In their latest defeat, Antigua and Barbuda’s goal shoot Rayana Regis shot 34 of 37 attempts while goal attack, Amey Lake, chipped in with three of seven attempts. Goal shoot Mary-Ann Frederick, carried the brunt of the scoring for St Vincent and the Grenadines, sinking 55 of 60 attempts. Goal attack Kristiana Christopher, chipped in with 13 of 20 attempts.
Meanwhile, defending champions Grenada won their second straight contest, demolishing Montserrat 82-8. Goal shoot Carlene Alexander had the hot hand on the night, hitting 50 of her 55 attempts. Goal attack, Celina Brown, contributed with 17 of 19 tries while substitute goal attack, Amy Nixon, added nine of 12 attempts. Even wing attack Tiffany Frederick got in on the action, hitting five of six attempts. Goal shoot, Juama Osborne, picked up four of 13 attempts for Montserrat.
Also on Tuesday, St Lucia beat Anguilla 88-12 in the feature clash. Merlessa Alfred shot 69 percent from the goal shoot position, sinking 29 of 41 attempts, while goal attack Dasha Eugene made good on 20 of her 22 tries, and wing attack Shem Maxwell added 13 of 14 attempts.
In a losing effort, substitute goal shoot Desiree Anthoine had six of nine attempts, while wing attack Tishana Depass-Smith contributed with five of 11 attempts.
In the other match contested, Cayman Islands defeated Dominica 62-37. Goal shoot Kay Copeland led the way for the Cayman Islands with 53 of 56 attempts, while goal shoot Anna Mar Panther and goal attack Seraphin Gordon both picked up 18 points for Dominica.
