After starting their campaign on the wrong side of the court, the Antigua and Barbuda Women’s Tennis Team lost their remaining matches of the Billie Jean King Cup with defeats at the hands of Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica.
In both matches they lost in straight sets. On Wednesday, they met the home side Trinidad and Tobago and were beaten three nil in their matches.
Jolie George-Alexander was beaten 0-6 and 0-6 by Jordane Dookie, while her sister Janae George-Alexander was defeated by Yolande Leacock 1-6 and 2-6.
In the doubles match, Janae teamed-up with Sibley Charles losing the encounter 1-2 with match scores of 4-6, 7-5 and 9-11 to Aalisha Alexis and Charlotte Ready.
In their final match against Jamaica, Jolie lost to Adeola Greatorex 0-6 and 1-6, Janae lost to Najah Dawson 0-6 and 0-6, while the pair of Janae and Charles lost in straight sets to Dawson and Katherine Dibbs,, 1-6 and 1-6.
