Team Antigua and Barbuda were beaten 56-31 by the Cayman Islands on Thursday in the ECCB International Netball Series as they followed up an 81-27 triumph over Anguilla with what was their third loss of the tournament being held in St Lucia.

The loss will, however, not affect the win/loss column for Antigua and Barbuda as Cayman Islands, as an invited team, is competing only for ranking points. It therefore means that Antigua and Barbuda maintains a record of two wins and two losses in four games.

In the absence of goal shoot Rayana Regis due to injury, Antigua and Barbuda were led by goal attack, Amey Lake, who sank 15 of 21 attempts. Tashana Bloomfield chipped in with 10 of 11 attempts, Kizzy Hughes hit five of six and Zhanira Pereira picked up one of two, all in the losing effort.

Goal shoot, Kay Copeland, carried the brunt of the scoring for the Cayman Islands with 26 of 34 attempts while Meleshia Josephs hitting 22 of 27 attempts. Rose Wilson added eight of her 10 tries.

Antigua and Barbuda lay fourth on the seven-team standings.

Meanwhile, defending champions Grenada beat Anguilla 95-11 in the night’s feature contest. They were led by goal shoot Carlene Alexander who picked up 80 of her 93 attempts.

Also on Thursday, St. Vincent & the Grenadines made light work of Montserrat to win 101-16. Mary-Ann Fredericks was on her game in the goal shoot position, shooting 93.75 percent with 75 of 80 attempts. Goal attack, Kristianna Christopher, bagged 23 of 28 attempts. In a losing effort, Juana Osborne hit 12 of 19 for Montserrat.

SVG sits atop the standings with eight points and a perfect record of four wins with St. Lucia and Grenada second and third with six points each. Antigua and Barbuda is fourth with four points with Dominica fifth with two points. Montserrat and Anguilla are sixth and seventh respectively without a point.
