The man whose alleged medical condition triggered his violent behaviour and attacks on other residents in Jennings on Monday, sustained serious injuries which have since kept him hospitalized, but he has no memory of the incident.

According to a police source, the man, Ansel Andrew, who allegedly suffers from epileptic seizures, sustained a depressed skull fracture due to blunt force trauma to his head. The source said doctors have also reported that multiple bones in Andrew’s face are fractured and he requires further scans and treatment.

The other man injured when Andrew allegedly attacked him has been identified as Uriel Christopher, the reputed assailant’s brother in law.

Christopher’s head injuries are said to be non-life threatening, although he also requires further evaluation.

At about 4 pm on Monday, Andrew reportedly attacked a man in a vehicle after the man refused to give him a ride. Residents rescued the man, and Andrew allegedly turned on them.

During a struggle with Christopher, who was among those trying to subdue Andrew, both men were knocked out.

They were rushed to hospital while the police commenced their investigations. Video footage of the aftermath of the attack has been circulating on social media. In one video, both men are seen lying on the ground and some residents are trying to help them while others suggest that no one should move them. In another video, others lamented the length of time it took for police and the ambulance to arrive.
