All Saints edge out State College in Senior girl’s match-up

All Saints Secondary School (ASSS) edged out Antigua State College (ASC), 17-15 in the Senior Girl’s division of the Cool and Smooth Inter-School Basketball league on Wednesday afternoon. The very physical match-up which was played at the JSC Sports Complex saw national junior players, Reyanna Regis and Jahleishia Knowles rise to the occasion to secure a much-needed win for ASSS. Regis would end the match with 9 points while Knowles finished with 6.
Another national junior player, Kahtalia Valentine scored 8 points in a losing effort. Princess Margaret School (PMS) recorded their second straight victory in the Senior boy’s category as they trumped St. Joseph’s Academy (SJA), 40-20. The dynamic duo of Trey Beazer and Sadiki Harris led PMS with a combined 29 points while teammate, Mikie Charles contributed, sinking 12. SJA’s Michael Burton Jr. had 9 points in a losing effort. Academy would however have something to celebrate as their Junior boys team ran a clinic on Pares Secondary School (PSS) defeating them, 42-21.
Rohaan Harry had a game high 16 points with assistance from Bertsfield Martin Jr. who netted 8. Pares’ Dejante Maede had 6 points. Clare Hall Secondary School (CHSS) continue to make an impressive run in the Mini-boys Secondary division as they defeated newbies, St. Anthony’s Secondary School (SASS), 14-10. Yohace Rodriguez led the guys in blue to victory with 7 points. He was assisted by Kelani Charles who had 5 points. Aidian Doumith, Aiden Crawford and Luke Doumith all scored 3 points for SASS. In the other game that day, Buckleys Primary trounced Combined, 6-2. The Mini-girls Primary encounter saw Onika Charles lead the country team with 4 points.
