AGS mauls SASS as PMS and SJA gets outright wins in schools football

The Antigua Grammar School (AGS) were huge 15-0 winners over St Anthony’s Secondary School (SASS) when they clashed in the Under-14 boys division of the Cool & Smooth/Joma Caribbean sponsored Schools Football Competition on Tuesday.

Kissaire Joseph led the charge for AGS, finding the back of the net on five different occasions. Tafari Parker assisted with a hattrick while there were two goals each for Nayan Edwards and Shaquan Gilgeous. Lamar Samuel, Adryl Lewis and Aiden Isaac all scored once in the one-sided affair.

The victory moves AGS to 16 points and into the third position on the 10-team standings while SASS remains on nine points and in the sixth position.

Defending champions, Princess Margaret School (PMS) were 3-1 winners over Sir Novelle Richards Academy (SNRA) when they met at PMS.

Alan Henry struck twice for the victors with goals in minutes 40 and 45 while Jaheedi Charles added a third in the 49th minute. Dnic Haloway had given Sir Novelle Richards Academy the lead in the opening minute of the contest.

PMS climbs into the second slot with 16 points with the win while SNRA remains second from bottom with just three points.

Also on Tuesday, St Joseph’s Academy (SJA) edged St Mary’s Secondary School (SMSS) 1-0. The lone goal of the contest came from Erije Joseph in minute 25. The win moves SJA to 11 points and fifth on the standings wile SMSS sits eighth with four points.

There were wins by default for the Ottos Comprehensive School (OCS) over All Saints Secondary School (ASSS) and for Clare Hall Secondary School (CHSS) over Pares Secondary School (PSS).
