It was a bittersweet ending for the newly crowned champions Princess Margaret School (PMS) as they suffered their first loss, breaking their undefeated streak on the final day of matches in the Cool and Smooth Inter-schools Netball Under-16 League.

PMS ended their regular season campaign with a 6-1 record as former champions Antigua Girls’ High School (AGHS) edged them out 8-7 on Monday afternoon at the YMCA Sports Complex.

Hannah Charles led the charge for her team, banking five of her nine shots, while teammate Alaina Elvin assisted by making three of her 10.

Meanwhile, in the other matches played that day, Ottos Comprehensive School (OCS) trounced Glanvilles Secondary School (GSS) 16-2, while St Mary’s Secondary School (SMSS) went under to Irene B Williams Secondary School (IBWSS) 12-5.

Kiara Samuel netted 10 of her 24 attempts for OCS with teammate Jessica Massicott contributing six.

Irene B Williams’ Kadisha Henry had a stellar performance sinking 11 of her 16 shots.

Schools netball will now focus on hosting a knock-out tournament with the teams before turning their attention to the 13 and under secondary and primary players.
