Antigua Girls’ High School continued their winning ways on Wednesday afternoon in the 16 and under category of the Cool and Smooth Interschool Netball Competition.

The former champions trounced Christ the King High School (CKHS) 1, 18-3 at the YMCA Sports Complex with Joy Shaw leading the charge once again, netting 16 of her team’s 18 points while for CKHS 1, Kelisha Gordon scored all three goals in a losing effort.

This is the second loss for CKHS 1 while AGHS are now 2-0.

Christ the King High did however have something to celebrate as their second team edged out Glanvilles Secondary School, 10-8, in overtime.

After the end of regular time both teams were tied at 8-8. Glanvilles would however falter in overtime and could not score a goal, leaving CKHS to take the win banking two goals.

Tacquena Toppin led all scorers making seven of her 16 attempts while her teammate Arissa Aska assisted making three of her seven attempts to secure the win.

Glanvilles’ Micah Thomas made two of her four, Nzae Williams four of her six and Keisha Cummings two of her four.

Matches will continue today in the 13 and Under Primary division starting at 2:30pm at the YMCA Sports Complex.
