The Antigua & Barbuda China Friendship Association (ACFA), in collaboration with the Confucius Institute, kicked off a week-long summer camp on Wednesday, at the Sir Novel Richards Academy.

The camp welcomed over 100 participants and offered foundational training in martial arts (Kung-Fu) along with an introductory course in Mandarin/Chinese.

Cuthbert Forbes Jr., Secretary of ABCFA, attended the launch and made remarks on behalf of H.E Lady Williams – President of the Association. During his speech, he commended Ms. Joanna Li and her team for initiative.

In his remarks, Forbes also emphasized the significance of partnerships like these, which not only aim to introduce Antiguans to Chinese culture but also seek to expand the knowledge and skills of our youth.

He also reassured the audience that the association is steadily working to introduce Antiguan traditions, history, and culture to the Chinese community.
