Murder accused, Shal-om Bailey, will be taken to court next week to face the charge against him.
Bailey, 24, was charged this week for the murder of Charlesworth Richards Jr., who was gunned down in June this year at Ras Freeman Estate in Liberta.
The Donovans man is scheduled to go before All Saints Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel on Monday, but  the magistrate will not be able to grant him bail because she does not have the power to do so. He would have to make an application to the High Court.
At his first court appearance for Richards’ murder, a committal date will be set. Committal proceedings will determine if a sufficient case was made against Bailey to send the murder matter to the High Court for trial.
Bailey has several other criminal cases pending in the court against him to include a kidnapping incident for which he was charged in February this year.
He is also one of three people accused of killing Xavier Thomas in Cedar Grove in August this year and shooting with intent to murder two men who were injured in the drive-by shooting.
Bailey was on bail for the kidnapping at the time of both killings.
He is on remand at Her Majesty’s Prison and is scheduled to appear in the St. John’s Magistrates Court in February where committal proceedings are expected to begin for Thomas’ murder.
