Morvin Fiedtkou, the Deputy Director of the Antigua and Barbuda Emergency Medical Services (ABEMS), has successfully completed his certification as a pharmacist, marking a significant milestone in his healthcare career.

Speaking about his educational journey, Fiedtkou acknowledged the challenges he faced while pursuing his pharmacy studies.

“The most challenging part of this journey was balancing my personal life, professional responsibilities, and the demanding schedule of being a full-time student,” he said.

He particularly noted the rigorous nature of the pharmacy programme, explaining that “Pharmacy is heavily rooted in chemistry, which required intense focus and dedication.”

Fiedtkou credited his success to the support system around him, expressing gratitude to his family, friends, and his ABEMS colleagues who supported him throughout his studies.

Sir Molwyn Joseph, Minister of Health, praised Fiedtkou’s achievement, noting that having a certified pharmacist in ABEMS’s leadership team will enhance the organisation’s medication management capabilities and improve emergency medical response services.

The certification is expected to strengthen ABEMS’s healthcare delivery system, particularly in areas of pharmaceutical management and emergency medical care.
