The former festivals commission Chairman Cliff Williams is criticizing the judging for the Soca competition’s quarter finals.
The quarter finals took place earlier this week and it is reported that that contestants were only a minute and half to present even though they were reportedly told they would have five minutes each.
Williams took to Facebook saying quote “I hope one day we can go back to judging rather than selecting”.
He promised to speak to OBSERVER media late today. Meanwhile, Soca artiste Shanuel “Shani” Richards spoke to OBSERVER media about having less time.

Richards says artistes have not met to discuss the matter this year, but she remembers that artistes previously explained why not hearing the entirety of a song crimples their chances.
