A & B records second homicide for the year

A family squabble has reportedly become the circumstances under which Antigua and Barbuda recorded its second homicide for the year.

Police are currently investigating an alleged stabbing incident in Yorks that led to the death of 32-year-old Kareem Santiago.

It is alleged that some time between 7:30 and 7:45 am, on Friday, the deceased and his brother, who are both of Hispanic descent, were involved in a domestic dispute at their home, when Santiago was allegedly stabbed with a sharp object.

He was transported to Mount St John’s Medical Centre, where he was pronounced dead by a medical doctor.

The suspect is currently in police custody assisting the police as further investigations into the matter continue.

The country’s first homicide victim for 2020 was Troy “Monkey” Samuel who was gunned down in Bendals Village on January 16.
