A&B getting $27M from Adaptation Fund

Antigua and Barbuda is getting 27 million EC dollars from the Adaptation Fund which finances projects that help vulnerable communities to adapt to climate change.
The Environment Minister, Molwyn Joseph says the money will be used an integrated approach to physical adaptation and community resilience in the McKinnon’s watershed.
Observer Media’s Makeida Antonio reports that the focus will be on Upper Gambles, York’s and Mckinnons.
 
The McKinnon’s Pond Watershed Climate Adaptation Project has three objectives.
Firstly, the waterway from Woods to Mckinnon’s pond will be restored. This will include clearing the watercourse, making drains bigger and construction check dams to prevent flooding.
