17-year-old dies after garbage truck crushes him

OBSERVER media has confirmed the death of 17-year-old Stephen Perez in the Scotts Hill area around 9:20 a.m.
The Tindale Road resident was transported to the Mount Saint John Medical Centre (MSJMC) and pronounced dead.
According to traffic police sources, the young man was working on a garbage truck sub-contracted by the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA).
The driver, 55-year-old Charles Powell of All Saints, reportedly lost control of the truck when another vehicle sped over the hill leading into Potters.
The deceased was crushed underneath the truck as it overturned into a yard.
