Two police officers detained for alleged rape

The officers, who are both constables, allegedly raped a young woman in the Five Islands area late last week.

The woman reported the matter over the weekend and the cops are now confined to their barracks pending further investigations. OBSERVER media will bring more details on this story as information comes to hand.

This comes just a week after two officers were charged for kidnapping, assault, corruption and other offences. This crime is unrelated to the aforementioned rape probe.

The officers in the kidnapping case were identified as Marcus Isadore and Peter Lugay and they were remanded to prison to await their committal on July 19.
