Chairman of the Board of the Christ the King High School Joan Underwood is calling on Teachers Union President Ashworth Azille to explain why he has taken public issue with the board.
Azille, in an interview with Observer, suggested the school was failing to honour an agreement to provide paternity leave.
But Underwood says the union has not raised the issue with the board.

Underwood says a teacher was turned down paternity leave for failing to give adequate notice as is required in the agreement between the school and the union.

Underwood says the school caters to its staff while ensuring the students are not negatively impacted.

Observer Media apologizes for not having reached out to the Christ the King Board before running the initial story with the complaint from the union.
