One week after Craig Richards was reported missing, the police said they are yet to make a breakthrough in the case, as his relatives, including an identical twin brother, reportedly continue to get more worried.
Inspector Frankie Thomas said several people have been questioned since blood was found in Richards’ Bathlodge home and in his vehicle, which was discovered in Radio Range last week Wednesday.
“We are still looking for him; there are several searches ongoing and officers are still out there searching and asking questions everywhere. A number of persons have been questioned about his disappearance and as a matter of fact there are even people being questioned right now in police custody,” Inspector Thomas told OBSERVER media yesterday afternoon.
The senior officer is urging the public to assist in locating the 42-year-old man, whose relatives reportedly arrived on island yesterday.
“We are appealing to anyone with information to assist. If you have information about his whereabouts, you should contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913/4,” the officer appealed.
He said he hopes that the public would also join in the search to find Richards, as he expressed concern that too often residents only get involved when the matter concerns one of their own relatives or friends.
“We need the help,” Thomas said. “As law enforcement officers we have to look for everyone in any case such as this, regardless of who it is. The police have been out there hammering the pavement, searching every crevice and corner.”
Richards who is also known as “Twin”, “Junie” and “Boss”, was reported missing on March 19, about 24 hours after a female friend last saw him.
Investigators responded to the report and police found a pool of blood and blood spots inside Richards’ house and at the main entrance. They also found blood in one of his vehicles, which was discovered in Radio Range later that day.
