A 26-year-old Potters man, Lyndon Benta, is in serious condition at the Mount St John Medical Centre after an accident on old Parham Road, Sunday night.

Police reports indicated that Benta was heading east on a motorcycle when a RAV4 R101, driven by John Sweeney of Liberta, cut across to turn into KFC and the two collided.

OBSERVER media understands that Benta, who is a solider with the Defense Force, has not regained consciousness since being rushed to Mount St John’s Medical Centre after the incident.

Police Inspector Trevor Young said, according to hospital sources, the young man is now in a medically induced coma.
