The police have confirmed they recaptured Rashard Peters, a convicted thief who escaped from prison officials yesterday morning.
The Green Bay man slipped away from the prison guards while he was on the prison farm at Diamonds around 10:45 am yesterday.
Lawmen issued a public appeal to help capture the escapee, and they said that within three and a half hours he was caught.
Police from the Special Services Unit (SSU) found him in Grays Farm, the community in which he grew up.
They expressed thanks to the public for assisting in tracking down the well-known convict and repeat offender.
Police sources said prison officers are to be questioned and a report is expected to be prepared on the matter.                Efforts to reach prison superintendent Albert Wade for comment were unsuccessful.
It is unclear how many inmates and prison officers were at the farm and what systems would be put in place to prevent a recurrence.
